1. Inclusion of ghee and jaggery in the diet – It is extremely important to have local and traditional ingredients in the diet so that the nutrient intake remains correct.

2. One banana per day – Bananas are rich in nutrients and help good intestinal transit. It is important to have the fruit once a day, in the morning or as an evening snack.

3. Sprinkle raisins on your curd – While the curd cools the body temperature, dried fruits like raisins help in the supply of nutrients.

4. Increase your physical activity – Engaging in activities such as walking, running, jogging helps in good digestion and cleanses our intestines. This is what will help reduce the feeling of bloating at the end of the day.

5. A nap in the afternoon – A short 15-20 minute nap in the afternoon will help relax the body and induce healthy digestion of lunch.

5 practices to avoid to slow down poor digestion:

1. Don’t stay dehydrated – Water is an integral part of the diet and plays a key role in the entire process of digestion. It is extremely important to keep the body hydrated at all times.

2. Avoid tea / coffee after the party – The nutritionist suggests avoiding hot drinks after 4 p.m.

3. Avoid eating your meals in the wrong proportions – Although it is important to have a good supply of nutrients, it is necessary to know the proportions in which they should be contained. The common idea is that rice and chapatis are high in carbohydrates and should be cut, while legumes and vegetables can be had in larger quantities. However, Rituja suggests that rice and dal / sabzi should be eaten in equal proportions to maintain proper digestion.

4. Don’t throw ghee, coconut and peanuts out of your diet. – It is important that all the nutrients find a place in your diet to make it complete. Laxatives should be avoided, said Rituja.

5. Don’t be irregular with the exercises – Physical exercise helps in good digestion and, therefore, is a must regularly.

Rujuta also added that having a stressful life and being tense can interfere with good digestion. Taking a nap and relaxing the body several times during the day is important to improve the quality of nighttime sleep and prevent poor digestion.
