It goes without saying that Serena Williams is one of the most naturally talented athletes of all time. The grace and power with which she plays tennis reminds no one before her; she is truly a unique generational talent. That said, attributing Williams’ success solely to her natural abilities is to downplay the incredible amount of hard work she has put in to become the best in her field. Williams spent years training for greatness from an early age. It meant being in perfect physical condition. It also meant watching what she ate and taking care of her diet. There is one popular food that Serena Williams is now “done” thanks to her tennis career – and that is pasta. Keep reading to learn more about his eating habits.

Williams takes a reasonable approach to healthy eating

Williams spoke to Women’s Health to talk about her diet and her approach to eating. Rather than focusing on the food itself, she instead views food as something that helps her live more efficiently. “My philosophy is to eat to live. Don’t live to eat, ”Williams explained. She added, “I want to have a healthy lifestyle and, you know, [I’m eating] a lot of green and mostly herbal veg lately, just super healthy stuff.

Williams tries to avoid eating foods repeatedly, which is why there is one type of food that she doesn’t care about anymore.

Pasta is a food Williams barely touches. As delicious as pasta can be, its reasons for not touching it have little to do with being a carbohydrate. While some athletes sometimes avoid carbs to avoid gaining weight, Williams doesn’t like eating pasta now because of what she did with it in the heyday of her tennis.

When Williams was getting ready for a game, she needed to “load up on carbohydrates” to give her the energy to compete. While most people who eat too many carbohydrates can become overweight, athletes who expend an irregular amount of energy use them to keep them fueled and competitive. This has left Williams often turning to a pasta dish for energy, and she’s sick of it at this point.

Williams said, “The only time I eat pasta is when I’m playing / training. Usually you will never see me eat pasta otherwise. Because I feel like I must have eaten so much in my career. It’s like I never want to see pasta again.

It’s hard to blame Williams; eating too much of one thing can make anyone sour on any food, no matter how delicious it is. But that begs the question: if she doesn’t like pasta anymore, what are some of her eating habits?

What are Williams’ other eating habits?

To maintain strength and endurance, Williams needs to eat a balanced diet. She doesn’t always have breakfast as she is often busy in the mornings helping her daughter Olympia start her own day. She tends to not eat until she is hungry, which can sometimes happen later in the afternoon. Williams said she liked plant-based foods. Its breakfasts include items like gluten-free bean burritos or bean burgers.

For lunchtime, Williams gives herself a variety of options and often takes to social media for “inspiration” for recipes to try. There is, however, one weekly ritual that she loves to participate in: taco Tuesdays. Williams also admitted that she has at least one guilty pleasure when it comes to snacking: the Moon Pies. She claimed that if the candy maker sponsored her, she would be “bigger than any house on the planet!”

Of course, Williams is able to enjoy things like this every now and then due to his good physical condition and commitment to good nutrition and training. His diet is a master class on how to eat responsibly without starving.
