Rome Health will host a job fair

ROME – Rome Health will host a job fair from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4 at The Hospital, 1500 N. James St., with same-day interviews and job postings for eligible candidates.

According to Human Resources Director Michelle Podeswik, Rome Health offers opportunities for experienced individuals, as well as those interested in starting a career in healthcare with room for growth.

Some of the opportunities available include non-clinical support staff in building services, plant operations, food and nutrition. The hospital has openings for patient care technicians and orderlies. Enrollment bonuses are available for experienced RNs and new graduates.

The hospital’s five-star nursing home will be interviewing transitional nursing assistants to take the CNA course on site to gain their certification.

The nursing home has “above average” staff to provide the best care for its residents and now offers a starting rate of $17 per hour for CNAs, according to Podeswik.

Candidates hired for open positions will have the opportunity to begin the hiring process at the fair, including completing paperwork, drug screening and physical examination.

Bring photo ID and vaccination records. New York State requires COVID vaccination for those working in health care facilities.

With expedited processing, new employees will be ready to start their careers with the employee orientation on Monday, May 23.

“At Rome Health, we get to know each other and support each other to provide the best possible care – here. It is this common bond that unites us in serving our community every day,” Podeswik said.
