Oswego County Invites Job Seekers to Fall Job Fair September 21

Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) is hosting a fall job fair on Wednesday, September 21. The event will bring together local employers, training institutions and job candidates with a variety of career and training opportunities. It is scheduled to take place from 3-6 p.m. at the Fulton War Memorial, 609 W. Broadway, Fulton.

“Our economy is struggling to rebound from the upheavals of the pandemic and there are countless employment opportunities in our region,” said Rachel Pierce, director of the services department’s employment and training division. Oswego County Social Services. “We hope to bring job seekers and businesses together for an introduction to our local talent and employment opportunities. Helping people find jobs and helping businesses find quality candidates helps our communities improve their economic future.

Some of the companies scheduled to attend are Huhtamaki; Oswego Industries, Inc.; Novelis, Inc.; MacKenzie-Childs Distribution Center; Rite Aid Corporation; Oswego Health; Oswego County Opportunities, Inc.; Davis-Standard, LLC; Ambulance Mentor; Above the upper roof; and much more.

Oswego Health Vice President of Human Resources Marq Brown shares, “Oswego Health is excited to participate in the Oswego County Workforce New York event as it is a great opportunity to engage with candidates from the community. As the largest healthcare system in the region with 17 locations, we are continually looking to strengthen our team. Whether you are experienced or looking to start a career in healthcare, we encourage everyone to drop by the job fair and see the opportunities we have to offer.

Local training structures ready to discuss their programs include CiTi BOCES and OCM BOCES.

Matthew Tarolli, Adult Programs Coordinator at OCM BOCES, said, “Oswego County Workforce New York continues to keep the employment needs of Oswego County citizens front and center. The team is constantly working with training providers to ensure adults are exposed to a variety of training options that exist in central New York. We have been able to regularly meet potential students through job fairs and referrals to our many services. »
