Carlisle – Whether you have a New Years resolution to work on or just want to bring something new to the table, The GIANT Company’s team of registered dietitians are ready with a series of virtual nutrition classes. . The January theme brings more balance; February shows your heart an extra love.
All classes are free and will be hosted through ZOOM.
âOver the past year thousands of aspiring chefs of all ages have participated in our virtual nutrition classes and we’re excited to bring them back and better than ever for 2022,â said Kilene Knitter, MS, RD, LDN , dietician at The GIANT Company.
âWhile eating a healthier diet is often one of the best New Year’s resolutions, eating healthy is a way of life and there are many easy ways to make more nutritious foods and habits part of your family’s routine. Let us show you how in our latest line of free virtual nutrition classes.
Foodie fun for mini-chefs and families
Mondays at 10:30 am, mini chefs ages 6 and under will enjoy a story and create nourishing snacks ranging from polar bear toast to the love of insect fruit cups and penguin bagels.
Gather the whole family in the kitchen for cooking fun on Saturday mornings at 10:00 am January classes feature frozen fun with Olaf’s personal pizzas and Elsa’s frozen blueberry cookies, or bake sugar cookies from Elsa. red velvet and quick homemade pretzels in February.
Bring balance to the new year
From wellness workshops every Monday at 7 p.m. to healthy choices for weight control on Wednesdays at noon, the dietitians at The GIANT Company are ready to help you rethink those resolutions.
Classes also include better cooking for you on Wednesdays at 10 a.m., including mango muffins with coconut-lime streusel and lemon-blueberry coffee cake.
To help families on those busy nights, Dietitians’ Freezer Meal Prep classes on Thursday at noon will have you cooking recipes for Greek baked pasta and teriyaki beef and broccoli.
Show your heart more love
February is Heart Month, and dietitians at The GIANT Company are running classes throughout the month to showcase tips and recipes to nourish your body, mind and soul!
On Mondays at 7 p.m., learn about heart health and how sodium, fiber and fat can all play a part.
Love your potatoes every Tuesday at noon with sweet potato burger and kale and potato mash recipes with feta.
Dietitians can also help you boost nutrients in your family’s pantry with suggestions for cooking with canned foods, dried beans, and world grains.
