A medical career has always been one of the most sought after by Indian students. Although there are some of the best medical colleges here in the country, the number of Indian students applying to pursue their studies abroad has increased over the past few years. The most often cited reason for this surge in popularity of international medical degrees is the extreme competition and high tuition fees of some of the private institutions in India.

Over the past few years, students have realized that even if they do not enter their favorite school in India, they are able to fulfill their medical career aspirations by earning a degree from other countries. With the low cost of living and admissions in July, August and September, Russia welcomes over 2,50,000 international students from over 160 countries per year.

Omsk State Medical University is one of the oldest and largest medical universities in Siberia. The university has more than 35,000 doctors practicing worldwide in fields such as general medicine, pediatrics, preventive medicine, dentistry and pharmacy.
