Dr. Fevzi Özgönül listed the secrets to healthy living in 10 steps as follows;

1- To quickly adapt to the intense race, you have to start getting up early, like the athlete who does warm-up laps before the match. Starting the day early not only makes our daily work easier and faster to complete, it also helps us feel more vigorous during the day.

2-These seasons are the days when summer clothes are gradually taken off and winter or seasonal clothes appear.

3- In these days when the extremely hot weather is receding and there are rainy days in between, taking family walks in the evening will prepare us for the intense winter months. In addition, these days are a unique opportunity for students. These afternoon walks are important for both the circulatory system and our heart. These walks, which also help the digestive system to function more efficiently, will make us healthier in the winter.

4- Vegetables such as citrus fruits, carrots, broccoli, zucchini, Brussels sprouts, green peppers, cauliflower, mandarins, parsley, arugula, watercress, which strengthen our immune system, are foods rich in vitamins. In these months when winter months and illnesses approach, nutrition becomes just as important.

5-Another condition of a balanced diet in these months when the effect of the cold begins is an adequate protein intake. Protein should not be missing in the daily diet due to its powerful effects on tissue building and repair. In these times when infectious diseases are intensely experienced, adequate consumption of protein sources is very important. In particular, foods such as milk, yogurt, cheese, eggs, meat, chicken, and fish are the best sources of protein. Since the ban on hunting has been lifted, it is also possible for us to shift our protein intake to seafood with the drop in fish prices.

6-The oils that we use in meals are also important in the prevention of infectious diseases. Sunflower, corn oil, vegetable oils, omega-6 fatty acids, seafood, omega-3 fatty acids, olive and hazelnut oil are rich in omega-9 fatty acids. These fatty acids that we have mentioned have healing and strengthening effects on the immune system.

7-Of course, we must have a healthy and strong digestive system while applying all these suggestions. In order for our digestive system to get rid of laziness, we must first stay away from foods such as ice cream and dairy desserts that we consume in the summer, especially in these months when the seasonal changes are experienced.

8-In order to strengthen the digestive system and digest the proteins, fats and mineral sources of vitamins that we consume, we must cut out the snacks that we make at regular intervals in the summer and say goodbye to snacks. If we want to have a healthier body, like during Ramadan, we have to avoid snacks. In numerous studies, it has been concluded that a 12-hour fast, especially in the evening, strengthens both the digestive system and prolongs life.

9-Water consumption is at least as important as a healthy diet. If we have the habit of consuming carbonated drinks instead of water in the summer, we have to get rid of it awhile ago. Getting rid of the soda habit is important to avoid the extra pounds we put on in the winter. Of course, it’s not just about carbonated drinks. Drinks like tea and coffee that we consume too much do not affect our health in a good way.
